Here we go month 2 is beckoning and here are the new deadlines and optional prompts for Book 2 (which I hope you’ll enjoy as much as Book 1). I’ll be posting out all the poems inspired by Book 1 throughout March.
Book 2, I think, is challenging in a different way though. If you missed the overview I did of it, you can find it Here.
Again, enjoy the process! Be as free, as contemporary and as inventive as you like!
- Deadline for Book 2 Poems: Thursday 28th March
Each Poet Can submit a maximum of two poems per book.
- Optional Verse Form Prompt: (which you can use to inform or inspire your poetry if you like):
The Sestina. Six stanzas of six lines; the last word of each line in the first stanza is used to end one line in each of the other stanzas in a strict fashion.
Stanza 1 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 ,6
Stanza 2 6, 1, 5, 2, 4, 3
Stanza 3 3, 6, 4, 1, 2, 5
Stanza 4 5, 3, 2, 6, 1, 4
Stanza 5 4, 5, 1, 3, 6, 2
